Presenting at the board meeting on May 5, 2015, is Robert J. Birgeneau, chancellor emeritus at the University of California, Berkeley. He was named recipient of the 2016 Vannevar Bush Award. Birgeneau holds the Arnold and Barbara Silverman Distinguished Chair in the Departments of Physics, Materials Science and Engineering and Public Policy. He was given the Vannevar Bush Award in recognition of his exceptional public service and scientific leadership.
