The park (Historic District) is roughly bounded by Red Oak and Rockford Rds., Church and Rising Sun Lanes, and the Brandywine River, Wilmington, Delaware. The Park is now combined with 3 others and known as "Wilmington State Parks"
The statue was commissioned by Congress (according to information plaque) and was formerly displayed in DuPont Circle, Washington, DC
