The 3,250 electrical kilowatt pressurized water Saxton Nuclear Experimental reactor plant at Saxton, Pa., is expected to begin power production in March 1962. The privately financed facility, 20 miles south of

Altoona, was built by the Westinghouse Electric Corp. The reactor will be operated primarily for research and development, but is connected to an existing turbine generator for production of electricity at the Saxton steam generating station of the Pennsylvania Electric Co.
