File:Sir John Forrester Effigy, Corstorphine Kirk.jpg

Members of the Forrester family who held the lands of Corstorphine and founded a chapel (Adam Forrester, 1404) and a collegiate church (John Forrester, 1429). The dog at Sir John Forrester's feet faces inwards, suggesting that the figures originally adorned a pre-Reformation tomb in the body of the kirk, but were later moved and had their relative positions swapped to make his lordship more visible than his spouse.
