After a brief period of rain the day before, I went to a nearby vernal pool in a wooded hillside. Skies were mostly cloudy, with very little wind. In the vernal pool were several clusters of Spotted Salamander eggs and Wood Frog eggs, and under a log adjacent to the vernal pool I found this adult salamander. After photos I released it back under it's log.
