When I was back to my home state of Iowa in 2013 I spent a day driving around taking pictures of what is left of the small family farms that thrived when I was a lad. Most are gone now. If any buildings remain, they are used for storage. Most are unkempt but this one still has some of the red paint on it. It is sad to me. I can stand at a spot like this and hear the echoes of activity which once made these places alive.
