This was for a long time the village store. It retains the windows at the front, which the store had, and even some of the advertisements are still there. However, in August 2003, the premises were opened as a pub and café bar. Under the present landlord, it is described as a bar and bistro, but essentially it remains a pub which also serves food.
Interestingly the building was originally constructed as a pub, although possibly this is not the original building. It does apparently still have 16th century stone cellars.
