The memorial arch bears the following inscription, taken from Ecclesiasticus:

"ALL THESE WERE HONOURED IN THEIR GENERATIONS AND WERE THE GLORY OF THEIR TIMES"

Français : «La Phalange canadienne», un relief en marbre sculpté par M. Ivan Meštrović en hommage aux soldats canadiens qui combattirent dans la Première Guerre mondiale.

On peut lire l'inscription suivante sur l'arche commémorative qui traverse la rue Lyon, tirée de l'Ecclésiastique :

«TOUS CES HOMMES FURENT HONORÉS PAR LEURS CONTEMPORAINS, TOUS ONT ÉTÉ LA GLOIRE DE LEUR TEMPS»
