The compass rose and mappa mundi (a gift from the Republic of South Africa) view from the top observation deck. At the background is possible to see the famous Jerónimos Monastery, an UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Padrão dos Descobrimentos (The Monument to the Discoveries), is located in the beautiful city of Lisbon, Portugal. The Padrão dos Descobrimentos evokes the Portuguese expansion overseas and synthesizes the glorious past of Infante D. Henrique work in the “Age of Discovery” during the 15th and 16th centuries.
