The platform (left) and the cement silo (upper left) were added following the 1970 McKinsey Report which identified, inter alia, certain stations for growth and development.
The silo is no longer in use. The signal cabin (lower right) was made redundant with the introduction of CTC signalling.
The train is up ballast headed by 185. The driver had just exchanged the large single-line staff. At the time CIE single lines used the ETS (electric train staff). NIR used the ETT (electric train tablet).
