The U.S. Navy conventional-powered attack aircraft carrier USS Independence (CVA-62), and her embarked air wing (CVW-7), underway during their 15 October 1975 - 29 April 1976 deployment to the northeastern Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea.
This deployment is the only one made by the Independence where CVW-7 included a squadron of E-2B Hawkeyes (VAW-117), a squadron of EA-6B Prowlers (VAQ-132), and no fixed-wing antisubmarine capability (S-2G Tracer or S-3A Viking).
