File:Victoria City In Hong Kong Island (1907).png
The city’s boundaries weren’t well defined but there are City Boundary Markers erected by the British colonial administration in 1903. Its purpose remains unknown until the present day, but people suggests it may indicate a turning point for the direction of the city’s boundary. Yet more stones are to be found (3 were found in 2021).
Note that the gray lines on the top are Hong Kong Island’s original coastlines (prior to the reclamations up to 1907).
Will make a follow up map about the subdivisions of Victoria City (Colloquially known as the four “wans” and nine “yeuks” - 四環九約). Stay tuned. :)
