The flag of the Palestinian Sunni Islamist militant organization Hamas consists of a green background (a traditionally respected color in Islam) and in the middle it features the writing of the Shahada, an Islamic statement of faith, in white calligraphic script: "There is no god but Allah" and "Muhammad is the messenger of Allah".
