Franklin Township is one of eleven townships in Ripley County, Indiana. As of the 2020 census, its population was 3,628 (down from 3,773 at 2010) and it contained 1,574 housing units.

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 36.6 square miles (95 km), of which 36.54 square miles (94.6 km) (or 99.84%) is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 km) (or 0.16%) is water.
