Gitelson Building

The Gitelson Building is a historic building located at 6505 W. Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California.

History

The Gitelson Building was built in 1917 as a utilitarian two-story commercial office and retail structure. Originally featuring a brick exterior, the building was remodeled in the 1920s to a stylish Spanish Colonial Revival design, but all ornament has since been removed.

In 1984, the Hollywood Boulevard Commercial and Entertainment District was added to the National Register of Historic Places, with Gitelson listed in the district. However, it was not listed as a contributing property, as it was deemed to not contribute to the character of the district.

In 2017, the building sold for $11.25 million.
