Jaroszów, Lower Silesian Voivodeship
Jaroszów [jaˈrɔʂuf] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Strzegom, within Świdnica County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland.
It lies approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) north-east of Strzegom, 16 kilometres (10 mi) north of Świdnica, and 47 kilometres (29 mi) west of the regional capital Wrocław.
History
When it was part of medieval Piast-ruled Poland, in 1193, the tithe from Jaroszów was granted to the Canons Regular Monastery in Wrocław. The name of the village is of Polish origin and comes from the Polish given name Jarosz.
