Khairgarh Fort
History
Constructed in 1777 CE, Khair Garh Fort was established by Haji Khan Mandhani Daud Puta, a local chieftain. The fort was strategically positioned to oversee and protect trade routes traversing the Cholistan Desert. Over time, it played a crucial role in regional defense and governance.
Architecture
The fort's architecture reflects the defensive needs of its era. It features:
- Main Entrance: Located on the east side, flanked by small towers. The remnants of the broken arch of this entrance still stand today.
- Bastions: The fort includes multiple bastions designed for surveillance and defense.
- Materials: Constructed primarily from locally sourced materials suitable for the arid desert environment.

Khair Garh Fort holds cultural and historical importance for the people of Rahim Yar Khan District. It serves as a reminder of the region’s historical struggles for power and autonomy. Current Status
Today, Khair Garh Fort stands in a state of partial ruin, with its towers and walls showing signs of significant wear due to natural erosion and lack of maintenance.
