Lalmonirhat Government College
History
Lalmonirhat College was established on 1 July 1964. Renting a single tin shade room from current Lalmonirhat Govt Girls High School (before non-govt) the journey of the college begun. Later in the year 1971, Lalmonirhat College was shifted to a new premises (current). On 1 November 1984, the college was nationalizated.
Currently about 8,471 HSC, Honors, and Masters level students are enrolled in the college in regular and irregular session, 852 of them being HSC students. Number of teachers is more than 30. There are three main branches of study in this college: science, arts and commerce.

Results and ranking
HSC Exam Results
From 2009 to 2024, a total of 7,094 students from the institution participated in the HSC examination. Among them, 5,614 students passed while 1,480 failed. Additionally, 474 students achieved GPA 5 (A+). During this period, the average pass rate was 79.14%, and the rate of GPA 5 achievers was 6.68%.
College Ranking in 2024
According to the 2024 Sohopathi College Ranking, the institution secured the 771st position at the national level, 33rd position in the Dinajpur Board, 70th position in the Rangpur Division, and 5th position in Lalmonirhat district.
