Lavington, British Columbia
School
Lavington Elementary School has about 170 children in preschool, kinder garden, and grades one through seven. It has a BGC Canada program currently running. The last three Principals were Mr. Sutch, Maccagno, and Johnson, who was an avid fan of the Edmonton Oilers. The school has a small Sandbox next to the community garden.
The school also houses a large Gym, with six Basketball hoops. One interesting rule is that only grade four and up can go in the "backfield" (The back of the field played in by kids at recess/lunch)
Population
As of 2021, the estimated population of Lavington is about 800, but this number may not be accurate.
Park
Lavington Centennial Park has had some construction in recent years, as new sprinkler systems were put and a Mavens Lane daycare was built. The Park hosts an Easter Egg Hunt every easter, although in recent years it has been canceled. There is supposed to be a hunt in 2025, however. The park also contains a pool 3 playgrounds, and a washroom. The washroom is constantly vandalized, so it may be torn down soon.
People
One neat thing about lavington is how it is home to an author (Name anonymous) who has written multiple books, worked in a movie and worked for a magazine. It is home to many kind and compassionate citizens (and a few silly ones) who do amazing things for the community. (Most of this is done by the Lavington PAC.)
Information
Most information was found inside the community itself, as the web was devoid of information.
