History
Melville Beach incorporated as a resort village on July 1, 1983.
Demographics
In the 2021 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, Melville Beach had a population of 54 living in 29 of its 85 total private dwellings, a change of 184.2% from its 2016 population of 19. With a land area of 0.11 km (0.042 sq mi), it had a population density of 490.9/km (1,271.4/sq mi) in 2021.
In the 2016 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, the Resort Village of Melville Beach recorded a population of 19 living in 9 of its 60 total private dwellings, a -29.6% change from its 2011 population of 27. With a land area of 0.21 km (0.081 sq mi), it had a population density of 90.5/km (234.3/sq mi) in 2016.
Government
The Resort Village of Melville Beach is governed by an elected municipal council and an appointed administrator. The mayor is Ken Gerhardt and its administrator is Kayla Hauser.
