In the 2021 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, the RM of Moose Jaw No. 161 had a population of 1,207 living in 496 of its 557 total private dwellings, a change of 5.6% from its 2016 population of 1,143. With a land area of 777.62 km (300.24 sq mi), it had a population density of 1.6/km (4.0/sq mi) in 2021.
In the 2016 Census of Population, the RM of Moose Jaw No. 161 recorded a population of 1,163 living in 459 of its 524 total private dwellings, a 1.4% increase from its 2011 population of 1,147. With a land area of 793.73 km (306.46 sq mi), it had a population density of 1.5/km (3.8/sq mi) in 2016.
Government
The RM of Moose Jaw No. 161 is governed by an elected municipal council and an appointed administrator that meets on the second Tuesday of every month. The reeve of the RM is Ron Brumwell while its administrator is Mike Wirges. The RM's office is located in Moose Jaw.
