NGC 5161
NGC 5161 is a spiral galaxy in the constellation Centaurus. John Herschel discovered it on 3 June 1836.
Two supernovae have been observed in NGC 5161: SN 1974B (type unknown, mag. 14.5), and SN 1998E (type IIn, mag. 16.5).
