Ochtiná

Ochtiná (Hungarian: Martonháza) is a village and municipality in the Rožňava District in the Košice Region of middle-eastern Slovakia.

History

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1243. Before the establishment of independent Czechoslovakia in 1918, Ochtiná was part of Gömör and Kishont County within the Kingdom of Hungary. From 1939 to 1945, it was part of the Slovak Republic.

Geography

The village lies at an altitude of 344 metres and covers an area of 14.481 km². It has a population of about 550 people.

Culture

The village has a public library and a football pitch.
