Savanne District

Savanne (Mauritian Creole pronunciation: [savan]) or Savannah is a district of Mauritius, situated in the south of the island. The district has an area of 244.8 square kilometres (94.5 sq mi). As of 31 December 2015, the estimated population was 68,585.

  • Bel Ombre Nature Reserve: a nature reserve located in Bel Ombre, Mauritius. It is the largest nature reserve, being 1,300 hectares (3,200 acres).

  • La Vallee des Couleurs Nature Park: a nature park located in Chamouny. The valley has four waterfalls which vary in size and height: Cascade Vacoas, Cascade Chamouzé, Cascade Bois de Natte, and Cascade Cheveux d'Ange.
