Shazand County
History
After the 2006 National Census, Kazzaz Rural District was created in the Central District, and Qarah Kahriz Rural District and Kuhsar Rural District were separated from the district in the establishment of Qarah Kahriz District. The village of Mahajeran was elevated to the status of a city.
After the 2011 census, The villages of Bazneh and Hafteh were merged to form the new city of Shahbaz.
Demographics
Population
At the time of the 2006 census, the county's population was 118,789 in 31,228 households. The following census in 2011 counted 117,746 people in 35,084 households. The 2016 census measured the population of the county as 117,571 in 38,214 households.
