Template:Interwiki Extra

Get extra interwiki links from a specified Wikidata object, to complement existing links for the including article.

Note: The page is normally also itself linked directly from Wikidata. Only languages that do not already have a link will display the extra link.

Example

The article Fibonacci sequence is in Wikidata connected to Fibonacci sequence (Q23835349). The redirect Fibonacci number goes to the same article, but Fibonacci number (Q47577) cannot connect there. Other languages have chosen the other way around, such as simple:Fibonacci number. From Wikidata perspective they are different concepts though, and should not be merged.

The main article for each language can get extra links from the secondary concept by including the template with the other qid. E.g.

{{Interwiki extra|qid=Q47577}}

This automatically adds sitelinks to the article, from d:Q47577 when needed. Each Wikipedia variant can choose which qid to include without any interwiki conflict, but more conveniently than maintaining specific language links.

Usage

{{Interwiki extra|qid=Q<Wikidata item number>}}
