Template:Metro
Usage
This template expands a name (1st parameter) to link to the appropriate metro station article, without displaying "metro station".
Optionally a second parameter can be supplied to distinguish between identically named stations in different locations.
The optional third parameter will replace the default text.
For example:
Jamaica
expands to Jamaica
.
Lake
expands to Lake
.
Bloor–Yonge
expands to Bloor–Yonge
.
- Note:
This template will correctly handle all the standard forms of metro station names:
- Xxx metro station
- Xxx (Location Metro)
- Xxx (Location metro)
- Xxx station (Location Metro)
- Xxx metro station (Location)
- Xxx station (Location)
- Xxx station, Location
- Xxx station
Discretion should be used on whether to name the place itself or the station that serves it. In railway articles it is generally preferred to use the station unless specifically talking about the place, for example that Howdon serves the neighbourhood of Howdon.
Many world metro system articles follow the link form of terminating with "metro station".
