- The Romanesque church St. Peter in Syburg, now a suburb of Dortmund, is surrounded by a graveyard with stones dating back to the ninth century. (2013)

- Bach based his chorale cantata for the third Sunday after Epiphany, Was mein Gott will, das g'scheh allzeit, BWV 111, on a 1554 hymn by Albert, Duke of Prussia, who had introduced the Reformation into Prussia. (2012)
