I've been around editing pages since March 26, 2006 and since my time here I have become accustomed to much of the Wikipedia guidelines and rules that outline this wondrous encyclopedia. Since my stay here, I have become an active editor, though my main source of editing exists with pages concerning anime & manga or that have some connection with those two fandoms. Much of what I have learned up until now has been by looking through a bunch of pages and figuring out the correct way to type in all of the Wikicode and how to format it. It's no easy task and can be very time consuming, but I find a lot of fun in editing and hope to stick around for a long time helping out in any way I can. My first edit was to the Kashimashi: Girl Meets Girl article; this article made me want to create an account. My 10,000th edit was to the Ayu Tsukimiya article on March 16, 2007. By March 2008, I had over 30,000 edits. My 100,000th edit was to the Moyasimon: Tales of Agriculture article on June 13, 2017. I became a rollbacker on May 11, 2008, an autopatroller on September 18, 2009, a pending changes reviewer on June 15, 2010, a file mover on March 10, 2011, and a new page reviewer on December 3, 2017. I was a delegate for good and featured topic candidates from October 2, 2013 to February 8, 2020.

I have been approached four times by three different administrators to become an administrator for this Wikipedia, but have declined each time. I believe I do not have the interest or time to work as an administrator, especially when the little time I do have to contribute is dealing with article building, fighting vandalism on any of the pages I watch, or resolving disputes I may get into on any of the articles I work with. The first time I was approached by Wizardman in August 2007, followed about five months later by Sephiroth BCR in January 2008. In May 2008, Wizardman approached me for the second time. Lastly, I was asked by Mifter in September 2009.

Other than my screenname, I have been called other things. One anonymous user once called me a bastard, even though this person was in the wrong.

About the name

The name Juhachi comes from the Japanese word jūhachi (十八) meaning eighteen, which is also my lucky number. I dropped one of the u's in the word simply because I thought it looked better. Also, this is why when I sign my name on talk pages it appears as -- , using the Japanese kanji for the name.

Theme

My first theme I had with my user page was taken from the series Higurashi no Naku Koro ni where one syllable or set of syllables in the middle of a phrase was colored red whereas all the other letters were white with a black background. The headers and the items that were wikilinked (which were also bolded for easy viewing) had this configuration. My second theme I had with my user page was taken from the series Kanon where the title is displayed with blue letters on a white background with pink snowflakes. The headlines and text were colored blue, and the wikilinks were colored pink, with a white background.

My current theme is taken from the company logo of the visual novel studio Key where the logo is displayed with a mix of black and red on a white background.

Additional wikis

On December 28, 2006, I created an account at Wikiquote with the intention of creating and building up a page for the series Kanon. On January 27, 2007, I created an account at the Japanese Wikipedia mainly with the intention of making relatively minor edits that don't hinder on me knowing the Japanese language of which I am in the process of learning. On June 27, 2007, I created an account at Wikimedia Commons with the intention of uploading the occasional image into the public domain. On April 26, 2013, I created an account at Wikidata.

You may have noticed that I have created all of my Wiki-related accounts either on the 26th, the 27th, or the 28th of a given month, and may also wonder why this is so. My answer to this question is that it is purely coincidental and I did not plan this; it just happened to be this way for some odd reason.
