Welcome,
I am a Dutchman but have been living, since 2006, in County Clare, Ireland, Ireland. I'm interested in local history, mainly from county Clare (Ireland) and Groningen (The Netherlands), Irish traditional music and genealogy.
It is remarkable that Wikipedia is claiming not to be a site for advertising and promotion, but on the other hand it is extremely difficult to remove articles that are plain advertising or promotional. This is due to the many editors who claim that normal editing should do the trick but fail to improve these articles they say can be improved. This seriously undermines Wikipedia's stance against advertising and promotion. The fact that WikiProjects become increasingly powerful with settings the rules is also a threat to the reliability, independence and quality of Wikipedia.
Unfortunately for many people, I do not discriminate. I treat everybody exactly the same, no matter how important somebody is (or thinks they are) or how inexperienced somebody is. I do not care about personal hobbies or local consensus when that is detrimental to the encyclopaedia....
The Banners Law
The more truth or freedom is in the username of an editor, the bigger the chance on a lack of truth and freedom in the edits of that editor.
Writing articles is fun, but...
...sometimes a bit dull and boring. Pictures can solve a lot of that. You can find loads of pictures in The Commons Picture Archives!
... how do I find coordinates for an article. The Coordinates tool is very handy for this.
... sometimes you want to know what articles you have created. Simply check that here.
... sometimes you just want to know how much you have done. Simply check that here.

I do lots of aviation accident edits. If I had seen those templates in aviation articles, I would have nominated them for deletion. Based on my own experience, some members of the Aviation Wikiproject think WP policies don't apply. ...William 15:41, 19 July 2014 (UTC)

Michelin project. Too much spamming, non-ENWP-editor following me around for harassing, changes in the Michelin procedures that makes maintaining the articles more difficult. To top it off: editors thinking that many trivial and/or spammy mentions proves notability.
