Hello, David R AustinTx. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you have an external relationship with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article The Nightowls, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.
All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.
If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:
Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies. Note that Wikipedia's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. ukexpat (talk) 20:05, 27 August 2015 (UTC)
Hey user:David R AustinTx, thanks for the tip on the wikipedia adventure. I was going to try this out earlier, but didn't want to add any more fuel to the fire of my being by compared to another user who I was having trouble with. Basically I started out with wanting to fix some articles I thought were "wrong", but got corrected fairly soon. Through a very strange convergence of variables, this other user and I intersected and the bosses thought we were the same person trying to disrupt the place. (I got blocked and then later unblocked). So I did Wikipedia adventure after I saw you did. Thanks for the great interactions and collaboration, I learned a lot about editing from watching what you have done, mostly your tenacious, steady plodding through and commitment. One o my favorite phrases is "success is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration". What are you going to work on next? I was thinking about writing a biography, if I do, I'll reach out and maybe you could help? --Cityside189 (talk) 23:27, 29 August 2015 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Music of Austin, Texas, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Joe Jackson and Blondie. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi David ツ Here is the page to enter the dark Wikipedia, as it were: WP:Noticeboards (the information article) and the navigation box:
If you start watching and participating on the noticeboards, I promise you may descend into Alice's rabbit hole and never return...
It appears this is always finicky and is seemingly dead at the moment. There seems to be an alternative that is described as 'clucky' to use: I cannot decipher it at all; encryption codes would be easier, but I am not that desperate for page views. If you want to keep the template, place it in your sandbox or on your user page. It is, however, available on the page for any of its relatives.
Any other questions, let me know. Always happy to see you and to help. Fylbecatulous talk 16:44, 4 February 2016 (UTC)
