Question from Yayimacoolguy (14:04, 14 January 2025)
Hello how do I create a wikipedia article --Yayimacoolguy (talk) 14:04, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- My advice is to improve existing articles first, rather that writing a new one. Ritchie333 18:40, 14 January 2025 (UTC)

Question from Nuclieos (08:57, 15 January 2025)
you mean first i have to do copywriting then ill be able to write --Nuclieos (talk) 08:57, 15 January 2025 (UTC)
- It'll give you experience in how things work around here. It's much harder to create a new article from scratch than improve an existing one. Ritchie333 12:06, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

Question from Shailendra.sharma0710 (16:12, 15 January 2025)
Hi Ritchie333,
Could you please me in publishing my Wikipedia page.
Thanks --Shailendra.sharma0710 (talk) 16:12, 15 January 2025 (UTC)
- The draft, User:Shailendra.sharma0710/sandbox has absolutely no coverage in third-party sources, which is essential for any biography of a living person. The relevant section of that policy has further information. Ritchie333 12:05, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

One day
Hi Threesie. Hope you are well. That nice Mr Trump said he would stop the war in Ukraine "in a day". In fact, wasn't that an election promise? I wonder if he will let us all know what day that will be, as I'd certainly like to be watching when it happens. Perhaps he'll be throwing sharpies to the audience after he signs the peace accords? Regards. Martinevans123 (talk) 11:58, 21 January 2025 (UTC)
- I said Trump was going to win the election before it happened, so nothing he's come out with (getting rid of climate change, sticking tariffs, etc etc) it is at all surprising. The reason for my sudden outburst is that said tariffs have a non-trivial chance of making me having to pay a visit to the Job Centre in the coming year, and I really don't fancy that. Ritchie333 12:08, 21 January 2025 (UTC)
- Ah I see. Well at least he'll Make America Greedy Again, even if the whole planet is doomed. Yay!! Martinevans123 (talk) 13:11, 21 January 2025 (UTC) I feel sorry for the Donald. Unlike BoJo, he hasn't even got a squirty flower
Question from Holy Virgin Mary (14:46, 23 January 2025)
Hello, Is there a way to edit my profile and add a profile picture? --Holy Virgin Mary (talk) 14:46, 23 January 2025 (UTC)
- You can upload images using the "upload file" command (see this page for full details) and then embed it on your user page using the File directive. As long as the image is a selfie, you own the copyright to it and can mark it as "own work". Before you do any of this, I would recommend editing some articles first to get some experience with how the process and syntax worked. I'd also consider whether a picture yourself on-wiki is actually a good idea, because of privacy concerns. Ritchie333 11:01, 24 January 2025 (UTC)
Requesting deleted page to be copied to my user page
Greetings,
I submitted a draft for a Team Ladybug page that was denied. I'd like to revise my draft but I've lost access to the page (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Draft_talk:Team_Ladybug).
Jimfbleak stated, in my user page, " If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.", so here I am.
I'd really appreciate the help, thanks for taking the time to read this! GoodLuckTrying (talk) 14:50, 23 January 2025 (UTC)
- The problem here is that Jimfbleak deleted the page because it was unambigiously promotional. The "If the page you created ..." text refers to drafts that have been deleted because of a lack of activity. I'm reluctant to restore a draft when it is opposed by another administrator. Ritchie333 11:05, 24 January 2025 (UTC)
- Ritchie333, thanks for ping. If you wished, you could always email the deleted text, but GoodLuckTrying, if you post anything resembling the deleted spam, it's likely that it will be deleted again, and you will be blocked from editing. If you really want to try again, better to start from scratch. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:22, 24 January 2025 (UTC)
- I'd just like it as a reference. I plan to re-write it removing all apparent bias and ask for a willing user here to proofread it. (Redacted) 14:05, 24 January 2025 (UTC)
- This was sent by myself. Didn't know it'd let me comment while not being logged in. GoodLuckTrying (talk) 14:07, 24 January 2025 (UTC)
- I have emailed the deleted text to you. I've redacted the IP address for privacy reasons; my talk page is unprotected so anonymous users can comment here too. Ritchie333 10:16, 26 January 2025 (UTC)

Verdict that gave me a laugh
Even when not the outcome I foresaw happening, I did get a chuckle out of what you wrote here. Thanks for the amusement! Eric Cartman would be proud of the words you chose :P. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 14:57, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
- Accept my authoriteeeeh! Ritchie333 18:53, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Ritchie333: As someone who wasn't involved with that discussion, can you please explain why you closed it as no consensus? There was a clear numerical majority in favor of deletion, and I don't think that the Keep arguments were so much stronger that they counteract that. Thanks, QuicoleJR (talk) 22:27, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
- As somebody, who was involved, I would also like a bit more explanation here as I didn't see particularly strong keep arguments to justify a no consensus. It seems like this requires at the very least an actual explanation in the closing statement; more than just a joke. Cakelot1 ☞️ talk 09:30, 27 January 2025 (UTC)
- The principal problem is, people calling for deleting the article versus keeping it seemed to be at loggerheads with each other, with nobody suggesting a compromise such as merging the content into the parent Kenny McCormick article - save for a passing mention by Piotrus. Also, I don't think either side gave a strongly convincing argument that was better than all the others, with several comments getting back-and-forth discussion from both sides. Hence I didn't think a consensus was going to come out of this. As a compromise, you could try merging and redirecting the article as mentioned, which can be done outside of the scope of the AfD. Ritchie333 10:32, 27 January 2025 (UTC)
- But there is nothing to merge as the entire article is unsourced with the exception of the opening that's already in Kenny McCormick#Deaths (and no extra sources where presented), which is why nobody seriously considered it. Obviously my and your reading of the strength of the various keeps referencing its usefulness and interestingness were different. If nobody else does I'm likely going to open a WP:DR on this at some point this week. Cakelot1 ☞️ talk 10:49, 27 January 2025 (UTC)
- Alternatively, I could simply revert the close and relist it for another week. Will that do? Ritchie333 10:50, 27 January 2025 (UTC)
- I'd be happy with a relist. More time can't hurt, particularly a WP:ATD can actually be found (which based on the current discussion I'm still failing to see) Cakelot1 ☞️ talk 11:00, 27 January 2025 (UTC)

Tagged to death
I noticed the state of Multiple discovery (this revision for posterity if it gets fixed) and I couldn't help but be reminded of the tag on your userpage. I think this is the worst example of the problem I've ever come across. Clovermoss🍀 (talk) 22:37, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
- That article makes my head hurt just trying to read it! I'm not sure what to do with it, but I guess taking it to AfD would be using a sledgehammer to crack a nut. Ritchie333 10:33, 27 January 2025 (UTC)

Question from Naeem Abbas 8684 (03:13, 28 January 2025)
hello! what is the procedure of paid editing? --Naeem Abbas 8684 (talk) 03:13, 28 January 2025 (UTC)
- The best advice is don't. While I think it's personally possible to contribute to Wikipedia and get paid for it, such as a Wikipedian in Residence, if you have to ask about the paid editing policy, and your username is in red, you're unlikely to ever be successful. It's like someone with no experience in plumbing asking how to rebuild a bathroom. Ritchie333 15:07, 28 January 2025 (UTC)
Question from Hawaiiborn5 on Lydia (name) (16:10, 29 January 2025)
Hello! I want to add another name to the Lydia list. That would be Lidia Paki, 1838-1917. She is better known as Queen Liliuokalani, last queen of Hawaii. Source is the book, written by Helena G. Allen and is called “The Betrayal of Liliuokalani.” Is this something you can do for me? --Hawaiiborn5 (talk) 16:10, 29 January 2025 (UTC)
