Today I have three "musicians" on the Main page, one is also the topic of my story, like 22 July but with interview and the music to be played today -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:24, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you today for St Melangell's Church, introduced: "St Melangell's Church, built over Bronze Age sacred ground, housed a prominent shrine in medieval Wales. The titular Melangell, patron saint of hares, founded a monastery in the area in the 7th or 8th century, and the current church was built during the Norman period. After a period of decline during and after the Reformation, renewed interest in the 19th and 20th centuries resulted in the reconstruction of the shrine and extensive scholarly analysis of the site; an entire journal volume dedicated to fresh archaeological discoveries was produced in 1994. This article was a stub marred by a giant blockquote and some very 2009-style references when I found it, but it was a diamond in the rough. I've been working on this on-and-off for around 6 months, and exhausted every scholarly source I could possibly find on this topic."! - Enjoy your first TFA day! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 05:07, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

thank you! it's exciting - as i said, it was a lot of work and very satisfying to see that bronze star :) ... sawyer * he/they * talk 05:11, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It is great to see a Welsh church on the front page. And such a lovely article. Congratulations! A minor point on cites for Cadw and Coflein - we’ve templates for these, which I personally think give a slightly cleaner look to the cites. You can see how they work in Cites 7, 10 and 19 here. All the very best, and I look forward to seeing another Welsh church soon. KJP1 (talk) 05:45, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
i know about the templates and actually used them previously, but at FAC i removed them because they're both a bit heavy on the redundant linking. if i can figure out how to edit templates (i'm pretty bad with anything technical), i will fix the redundant linking issue and re-add them to the article. thanks for your kind message! ... sawyer * he/they * talk 05:48, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you!

For your work on St Melangell's Church. It was a fascinating read after I spotted it as the featured article today. DJ Cane (he/him) (Talk) 21:29, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
