Vassy, Calvados
Vassy (French pronunciation: [vasi] ) is a former commune in the Calvados department in the Normandy region in northwestern France. On 1 January 2016, it was merged into the new commune of Valdallière.
It is said to be the origin of the surnames de Vesci and Vesely in England, introduced after the Norman Conquest in 1066.
