The Graphics Lab is a project to improve the graphical content of the Wikimedia projects. Requests for image improvements can be added to the workshop pages: Illustrations, Photographs and Maps. For questions or suggestions one can use the talk pages: Talk:Graphics Lab, Talk:Illustrations, Talk:Photographs and Talk:Maps. This specific page is the requests page for the illustration workshop. Anyone can make a request for an illustration to be improved or created for a Wikipedia article. Clicking the "New Request" button will bring you to a standard template for submitting requests, as well as general advice that should be followed.
Advice to requesters
All requests:
Please make sure your request is "legitimate" by copyright. If the image(s) are in the public domain or freely licensed, you are fine. If the image(s) are "Fair use", there are only certain things we can do with them without falling afoul of Wikipedia's fair-use policies.
If you are requesting assistance with a copyright or fair-use image, don't display it on this page; place {{GLNF|Example.png|caption|align=left}} to create a link to it. Do not add the File: extension. Ourfair-use policy does not allow displaying fair-use images out of their articles on ANY account.
Please check back regularly to see if progress has been made or if any additional questions need to be answered before the request can be completed.
If a request is done to your satisfaction, please mark it with {{resolved}}.
SVG requests:
Make sure your request can actually BE vectorized. Note that vector drawings are not suitable for certain applications. We generally use SVG format for icons, logos, drawings, maps, flags, and such. Certain things, photographs especially, are totally impossible to vectorize.
Per our non-free content policy, vectorization of copyrighted images is not permitted. If a vectorized non-free image is desired, seek out such an image from the copyright holder.
Could somebody please modify the above files representing the flag and coat of arms of Plomelin, so that they look closer to the way they actually should? The proper version of the flag can be seen here and here. And the full version of the arms can be seen here (albeit obviously without the captions at the top and bottom). Thanks. Is the dragon meant to be identical between the coat of arms and the flag? Just asking, since that coat of arms image that you sent is by far the highest quality version I've been able to find, so I'd like to use it as a reference for both.
Hi, I'd like to kindly ask if someone can please vectorize both the flag and coat of arms of the fictional country of the Holy Britannian Empire from the anime Code Geass? I have two versions of the flag and one version of the coat of arms posted to help you with the request. Thanks in advance!--109.79.30.209 (talk) 21:26, 19 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, because the colors on this version are much closer to those in the official source (particularly the blue background, which is a darker as opposed to a lighter shade of blue). Also, while the font is close, it is definitely a different style from what's on the Air Force website. It should be possible to directly pull the font from the Air Force source, and vectorize it, but that is something above my personal skill level. Indefatigable219:13, 9 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, it appears to me that the font used by the Air Force is simply "Times New Roman" or "Times" (or something very similar). So, it should be very easy for someone to adjust this. Indefatigable219:18, 9 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please could someone create an SVG version of the current Swiss Guard flag? Notable changes from the former flag is the swapping of the blue and red stripes in the top right corner, and the coat of arms of the current commander in the centre. Also the shield in the bottom left corner ought to be the same colour as the blue in the stripes. Thank you! -- Mangwanani15:17, 1 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Could the background of this image please be made transparent and an appropriate amount of whitespace be added around the logo? Thanks, Graham (talk) 23:35, 7 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please change the shade of green in the current file to something similar to these photos [1][2][3]. I also ask you to make two additional variants that are sometimes used:
Hello! I would like for someone to create an SVG of Karl Thopias Coat of arms based on the stone coat of arms. I want it similar to how they did it for the Bosnian Coat of arms and how it has this look [8] Thank you! Arberian2444 (talk) 04:34, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
For now I don't see the point in changing colours. It is not uncommon that different sellers of flags use different colours. I've looked at a whole series of photos of new Syrian flags. They show different shades of gray/black and lighter/darker green, because of the (see through or not) materials used and the amount of sun that falls on the flag. Yes there are photos with a seemingly lighter green version, but there are darker green versions too. These designs seem to all refer to the usual colours of earlier versions of the Flag of Syria. However, if you have an official source stating that particular different green should be used in the new flag, we would of course change it accordingly. Groetjes, Peter (talk) 11:40, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Groetjes, Peter: there are no official colors and proportions for Syrian flag, especially during these period. So it is good to have variants of it here (like we have variants of the previous flag). Panam2014 (talk) 12:11, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Don't get me wrong, I understand your excitement about the changes in Syria. I hope with all my heart that they finally get a long time of peace and prosperity. Again, we don't need a picture of all colour differences due to material use, glossy, mat, fluffy, faded due to the sun, etcetera. It's really overkill if we'd have to make colour variants for all flags of the world. Flag of Syria shows that the used colour palette is actually pretty persistent. Groetjes, Peter (talk) 12:23, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Again, you show me a picture of a faded flag: light green - pink - gray. Colours do fade, whether it is by weathering or by technical lighting causes while taking a photo. To me it would feel disrespectful to the people, if I'd draw such a faded flag. A new flag would be green - red - black. I've already discussed the range of colours, and why it doesn't make sense to repeat ourselves. Groetjes, Peter (talk) 14:29, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to request the vectorisation of this Brunei Fire and Rescue Department logo. Please take note that the date of creation of the logo is still unknown. More references: [9] and [10] -- Pangalau (talk) 11:43, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Could somebody please modify the above files representing this flag? This is a detailed design of the coat of arms which should look like this . I know that what I propose looks crooked and worse than the current ones, but these are representations of a specific fabric from 1813, which is actually crooked [12]. All current reproductions in use are crooked [13][14][15][16], this is the official version [17][18]. It is a flag of historical importance to Argentina and at the same time the official flag of one of their provinces. This flag has two versions in the proportions of 8:5 like the original and an officially existing modified version in 5:8. We currently have 3 files should also have a new coat of arms, the first representing the Jujuly flag must have an 8:5 aspect ratio, the next two representing two versions of the flag used in the commemoration. The second file should be identical to the first and we don't really need a copy, but it has already been uploaded and therefore should also be fixed. I have provided a graphic that accurately reflects the original coat of arms, but it needs to be vectorized. I also ask for the coat of arms without the white background, sent under the name "Coat of Arms Assembly of the Year XIII (Civil Freedom flag version).svg" Swiãtopôłk (talk) 19:39, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! I was wondering if someone can kindly please vectorize two proposed flags of Macau? In the Macau Museum, there is an exhibit of flag designs that were purposed for the city for Macau in 1993 for use starting in 1999 when Macau was handed over from Portugal to China. The website Flags Of The World (FOTW) shows the flags featured in the exhibit and there were 15 in total. You can see the flags on FOTW by clicking on the link here https://www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/mo!.html. 13 of those flags are now vectorized and are on the articles listed above. That means that there are only two flags left which are the flags listed on FOTW as Proposal No. 2 https://www.fotw.info/images/m/mo!2.gif and Proposal No. 14 https://www.fotw.info/images/m/mo!14.gif. Can those two flags linked please get vectorized and added to the articles? I'll be grateful to see them done. Thanks in advance. --93.107.203.142 (talk) 21:08, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to get separate illustrations of the two main parts of the system in this article, the transmitter and receiver. The image I've linked to above is the receiver. It is not obvious due to the low quality of the image, but the important part is a series of horizontal metal rods in front of the lower truss work that form the main antenna.
The only photograph I have found of the transmitter is here. It has even less detail than the image above though. I have also found an old illustration of it, but it is blacklisted so I can only suggest that one goes to https://en . topwar . ru to their page at /199210-britanskie-i-amerikanskie-radiolokatory-perioda-vtoroj-mirovoj-vojny-ispolzovavshiesja-v-sovetskoj-pvo.html. The image is about half way down the page (yellowish). The transmitter is overall very similar to the receiver in that it is a box on top of a gun carriage, and differs mostly in the details of the antenna and truss work.
It is quite difficult to see the receiver antennas in the photograph, you can see a series of rods at the top of the lower truss, but I don't believe that is them, there is another row of rods below it but they are very difficult to make out. The illustration also lacks detail of the receiver antenna, but they would look very similar to the two seen on the transmitter.
Can someone please create an SVG file of the flag flown by the ship Gjøa during Roald Amundsen's voyage through the Northwest Passage (1903–1906), consisting of a blue-green swallowtail pennant outlined in white (except for the hoist side), and the name "GJØA." (full stop included at the end) in white letters, as seen within this image here? Thanks. Snow Lion Fenian (talk) 18:24, 24 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
