In the 2021 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, the RM of Wood River No. 74 had a population of 466 living in 199 of its 281 total private dwellings, a change of 7.6% from its 2016 population of 433. With a land area of 824.84 km (318.47 sq mi), it had a population density of 0.6/km (1.5/sq mi) in 2021.
In the 2016 Census of Population, the RM of Wood River No. 74 recorded a population of 433 living in 183 of its 205 total private dwellings, a 33.6% change from its 2011 population of 324. With a land area of 838.45 km (323.73 sq mi), it had a population density of 0.5/km (1.3/sq mi) in 2016.
Government
The RM of Wood River No. 74 is governed by an elected municipal council and an appointed administrator that meets on the second Tuesday of every month. The reeve of the RM is David Sproule while its administrator is Brekke Massé. The RM's office is located in Lafleche.
