Church Of The Nativity Of The Virgin Mary, Hadynkivtsi
Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary (Ukrainian: Церква Різдва Пресвятої Богородиці) is a Greek Catholic parish church (UGCC) in Hadynkivtsi of the Kopychyntsi urban hromada of the Chortkiv Raion of the Ternopil Oblast.
History
The first mention of the parish dates back to the 16th century. At that time it was a wooden church with a bell tower. In the XVIII century, the parish and the church were transferred to the Greek Catholic Church.
- The end. XVII century – a wooden church was built.
- 1718 – on the initiative of at. Andrii Pashkovskyi, a new wooden church was built on the ground that had long been consecrated.
- 1732–1733 – the general visitation of the parish was made by at. Sylvester Malskyi, OSBP.
- 1758 – at. Antonii Onufriievych made a visit to the parish.
- 1850 – a new wooden plebiscite was built.
- 1860 – the church was restored and re-consecrated.
- 1909 – On the initiative of priest Klyment Sonevytskyi, the construction of a new church began. The donors were the local Mr. Tselietskyi and the parishioners of the village.
- 21 September 1913 – the church was consecrated by Bishop Hryhoriy Khomyshyn of the Stanyslaviv Eparchy. In the same year, he visited the parish.
- Until 1946, the parish and the church were Greek Catholic. In 1946–1990 they belonged to the Russian Orthodox Church. Since 1990, they have been in the bosom of the UGCC again.
- 1957 – the church was painted.
- 5 July 2000 – the church was damaged by the elements.
- 2009 – painting by artist Roman Papinko was restored.
- 2012 – the church was consecrated by Bishop Dmytro Hryhorak, OSBP of the Buchach Eparchy.
The parish has the Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network and the Altar Guard. Catechesis is conducted by a priest.
There are two chapels on the territory of the parish, a monument to the blessed Bishop Hryhoriy Khomyshyn (2004; consecrated by Bishop Volodymyr Viytyshyn of Ivano-Frankivsk Eparchy), the Church-Chapel of Ss. Peter and Paul on Pidlisna Street.
