Early inexperience
b3stJ joined the English Wikipedia on June 3, 2021 , as AEagleLionThing, with his first edit being an attempt to flag a citation for there being no URL visible. However, it turned out that the URL concerned was blocked on Wikipedia.
After this embarrassment, he quickly found copy editing, starting to make small changes in articles he read.
In Florida
Though he seemed to go dormant, b3stJ was not extinct just yet.
He soon got involved with improving the article for the Florida Parental Rights in Education Act, initially over the excessive citations. There were instances of 17 (on two occasions), 10 (on two occasions), and 16 consecutive citations.
This attracted the attention of InvadingInvader, who found massive issues in the article and over several edits attempted to fix the article. This was then reversed, leading to many pages of attempting to reach a consensus, involving multiple users.
It even escalated to Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard and even Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard, though in the case of the former stalled in in the latter the issue was quickly closed.
Engaging in conversations over what was allowed in this article helped b3stJ learn the Wikipedia process, with ideals like WP:BRD.
