Career beginnings and first twin successes (2013–14)
Hi, my name is Srinivas. I live in Singara Chennai (quoting Vivek there). I am interested in developing literature, film and cricket-related articles. For literature articles, I am especially interested in those related to comics, novels and their film adaptations. For film articles, I mostly like to develop those related to Tamil cinema but lately I prefer to develop those in other languages too. Tenaliraman (2014) was my first major contribution on Wikipedia. I started off as an IP editor in 2013 and my first official edits were in April 2014. I created my User page and User talk page in July 2014.
I soon started working on many recent film articles at the time like Anjaan, Kaththi, Lingaa and I to name a few and came to learn about Good articles, Featured articles and Featured lists on Wikipedia. I also found out that there's more to Wikipedia than meets the eye and that improving articles was not quite easy. Nevertheless, I did start work on Chandramukhi (2005) and Velaiilla Pattadhari or VIP (2014) simultaneously. The former is one of my all-time favourite films IMO and the comedic interplay by Rajinikanth and Vadivelu, who I'm a crazy fan of, is downright hilarious. VIP identified with me as a student and I felt it needed an expansion as a result. They both took a month to complete and I submitted them for GAN on November 2014. AmritasyaPutra took up Chandramukhi while Kailash29792 handled VIP. I then achieved my first success on 24 November 2014, and quite a big one indeed, when both the articles became GAs within a span of 24 hours. I received many barnstars for this effort and was appreciated by my fellow editors.
Continued GA streak and first FA (2014–15)
It was during my work on Aval Appadithan (1978) that I felt more GAs and possibly FAs on old classic Tamil films should be made for every decade of Tamil cinema, a feeling shared by Kailash29792 as well IMO. It was also during this period I met and interacted a lot of enthusiastic and fantastic editors such as Dr. Blofeld, Vensatry, Veera Narayana, Sriram Vikram, Thamizhan1994, FrB.TG and Krimuk to name a few. I also consider my work on Aval Appadithan to be one of, if not the most accomplished GA I've ever done. I continued on my success streak with films like Puthiya Paravai (1964), a classic and favourite film of mine, as well as another classic, Moondram Pirai (1982). I then turned to reviewing Good articles as well by starting with Gravity (2013) mainly because space films always intrigued me. I passed it after a pretty detailed review on 30 November 2014 and I have reviewed 66 more articles since then (most of them were passed). The articles I really enjoyed reviewing the most were those from The Adventures of Tintin. I have been a fan of the comic books and the animated series since childhood and reviewing the articles was like relieving my childhood days again.
I then felt the urge to make a GA with two of my most favourite Tamil cinema personalities: Rajinikanth and Vadivelu. Since I already achieved it with Chandramukhi, I decided to do a film each this time and I chose Padayappa (1999) and Imsai Arasan 23rd Pulikecei (2006). I chose the former mainly due to the reason that it made me the Rajinikanth fan that I am today. As for the latter, it is IMO one of the best satirical comedy films I've seen and Vadivelu fitted his role to the T. Hence, by early January 2015, I was already a hit among fellow Wikipedians (not to boast myself too much lol).
With getting a few GAs and GARs under my belt, I felt it was time to go to the big leagues i.e. to swing for the fence by aiming for my first FA. As I was wondering which article should I improve on, I happened to catch Enthiran on TV. Seeing it again on television and marvelled by Shankar's direction, I felt that since the film made records at the Indian Box Office during the time of its release, I decided to take up the challenge of making the film an FA. I first made it a GA with a pretty swift review by Dr. Blofeld himself. Soon after, I opened up a peer review to seek out opinions from other fellow editors. After a detailed first peer review, I finally submitted the article for FA. I got some initial support but then SandyGeorgia made some pretty major pointers that needed to be dealt with (mainly related to WP:PUNC and MOS:LQ stuff) and I had to withdraw it. I was initially dejected and really saddened but then I puckered myself up, determined to make it up there and I opened up a second peer review where, with the help of Dr. Blofeld, Kailash29792, RHM22 and Shahid, I sorted out the pending issues and opened up a second FA after they were completed. This time there wasn't much opposition and the sailing was pretty smooth with 10 Supports and a comprehensive image and source review. The article finally passed its FA on 24 April 2015. I was over the moon and flooded with barnstars and "congratulations" wishes (of course Kailash too got credit for improving the article with me since I included him as a co-nominator). Within 7–8 months of serious editing on this website, I felt like I was already on top. Also, I worked on another favourite classic of mine, Veerapandiya Kattabomman (1959) simultaneously with Enthiran. That one passed its GA on 6 April 2015.
Foray into classic Hollywood, literature, FL and Indian cinema challenge (2015–2018)
In June 2015, I developed an intimate interest in Classical Hollywood cinema (Not that I had no interest in it before since I watched my first classic film in 2012, Gone with the Wind (1939)). It began when I watched Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window (1954). Up until that point, I had never watched a single Hitchcock film in my life. I found it to be such a masterpiece that I had to continue onward. Dr. Blofeld in particular had also encouraged me by recommending some great films (not just Hollywood but films made all around the globe). It was also during this time that I came across Rod Steiger's work and collaborated with Dr. Blofeld in its FAC, which was promoted on 4 October 2015. Afterwards I also tried my hands at FLs to increase its number with respect to Tamil cinema. My first two FLs, List of accolades received by Enthiran and List of accolades received by Aadukalam were promoted on the same day: 26 August 2015. For most of 2016, I had sporadically worked on GAs and FAs throughout the year. My main contributions were on Mayabazar (which I collaborated on with Veera Narayana and Kailash, marking my first Telugu cinema FA article), Cary Grant, Richard Burton (I wish to resume it someday because I see a lot of my old stuff I wrote on the article is still there!), List of accolades received by Piku and Paava Mannippu (1961). In 2017, I predominantly worked on FLs getting several filmographies (like those of Ajith Kumar, Vijay, Suriya, MGR and Steve McQueen) and various accolade lists, in particular my first Hollywood ones (Moneyball and Tree of Life). In 2017, I also worked on one of MGR's most acclaimed films, Nadodi Mannan (1958), which I immensely loved watching as well, and brought the article to GA on 26 August 2017. Then I became part of Wikipedia:WikiProject India/The 1000 Challenge (Indian cinema) where me and other fellow Wikipedian editors helped to create and improve articles related to Indian cinema and boy did we get a lot of them to GA and FA status by the start of 2018.
... that the protagonist of the 2005 film Anniyan is a grim reaper-style serial killer whose website depicts all the punishments that await sinners in hell?

Loeba: Shares mine and Dr. Blofeld's love for classic films.

Prhartcom and Midnightblueowl: For helping me and supporting me in developing Tintin-related articles.
RHM22: A delightful user to work with and who helped me in Enthiran's promotion to FA with vital copyedits along with Dr. Blofeld.
Vensatry: His work on lists inspired me to make FLs. He also helped me develop interest in cricket-related articles.
Shahid: IMHO, A source of inspiration to Indian Wikipedians.
