Thank you for standing for arbitrator. I am far away from it all (travel, mourning), not in the mood, so just an informal question you can answer or ignore:
- Liviu Holender chose lieder by five composers whose music was banned by the Nazis—Schreker, Zemlinsky, Mahler, Korngold and Schönberg—for a recital at the Oper Frankfurt.
What does this 2024 DYK tell you about infoboxes for classical composers in 2024? -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:22, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
- I assume you mean the article and not the DYK hook itself (which has nothing to do with infoboxes). I suppose the article doesn't really tell me anything about infoboxes for classical composers in 2024, which... I guess is a good thing? I don't see any evidence of warring or dispute over the infobox. Primefac (talk) 16:43, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
- I meant the hook mentioning 5 composers whose talk pages might tell you something about the degree of disagreement. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:02, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
- I did not think to look at every talk page, will do so in the near future but I will be largely unavailable for probably

- How about now? - November was rich in sadness and happiness for me, expressed in music. Regarding my (archived question), I found one so far who looked deeply into the matter, Simonm223. There are two composers on the Main page today, Siegfried Thiele and Aaron Copland. I find the response of my friend Jerome Kohl to a question on Copland's article talk promising. What do you think? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:17, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
- It is quite refreshing to see discussions on talk pages that are civil, even if the participants disagree. I believe I said something similar in the last round of elections, but it does appear that the age of edit warring over infoboxes has passed. While it's probably not a hill I would die on, I will admit that I like seeing an infobox at the top of biographies, if only to get those "fast facts" about a subject, so to see them in all of these pages shows that general opinions may be shifting from those of a decade ago. Primefac (talk) 17:08, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you! - I agree. A few editors of a few FAs don't agree, and they revert a new set of people each year who are used to infoboxes and never heard of a conflict, - I was one of those in 2012 ;) - Today's story comes from a DYK about a concert that fascinated me, and you can listen! For my taste, the hook has too little music - I miss the unusual scoring and the specific dedication - but it comes instead with a name good for viewcount. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:41, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
- On the Main page today Jean Sibelius on his birthday. Listening to Beethoven's Fifth from the opening of Notre-Dame de Paris. We sang in choirs today. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:03, 8 December 2024 (UTC)

- Thank you! - Listen today to Beethoven's 3rd cello sonata, on his birthday - it was a hook in the 2020 DYK set when his 250th birthday was remembered. I picked a recording with Antônio Meneses, because he was on my sad list this year, and I was in Brazil (see places), and I love his playing. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:59, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
- I come to fix the cellist's name, with a 10-years-old DYK and new pics - look for red birds --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:03, 18 December 2024 (UTC)

Happy Holidays to you and yours
Peace is a state of balance and understanding in yourself and between others, where respect is gained by the acceptance of differences, tolerance persists, conflicts are resolved through dialog, people's rights are respected and their voices are heard, and everyone is at their highest point of serenity without social tension. Request for Comment on Talk Discussion
Hello :-)
May I respectfully request your comment/opinion on this Talk discussion? I would ask you directly, here, but I figured I should place it in a more public space should someone else have the same question as me. Thank you :-) MWFwiki (talk) 23:37, 18 December 2024 (UTC)

Situational question
Have a question about a situation I've run across and would like guidance. Not sure if its a "Take to AN for clarification from two accounts, report both users for possible meat or possible noncontributing behavior, or an ignore it for odd but not actionable behavior at this time" situation.
Person A created their account in November, made 6 edits to their userpage, and has since made 388 edits to Person B's sandbox. Person B (created Dec 2022) is still actively editing, made 20 or so edits to mainspace a year or two ago, but has made 5900+ edits to their own sandbox. When I asked Person A last month if there was any connection between the two accounts or that was also their account, I received no response. I have not asked Person B anything since they haven't done anything questionable other than the predominate sandbox editing.
Your, or any TPS thoughts on this situation? Thanks, happy holidays! Zinnober9 (talk) 18:02, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
- My immediate thoughts are that it is/was two students working on a school project. I would probably ask B what their intentions are, especially if they're not actually editing other than their userspace. Primefac (talk) 18:53, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks, their sandbox content didn't give me the impression of student project since it was a Big Brother reality show type of page in Spanish with contestant details and tables with elimination status by week. I've run into a fair number of student assignments here and I can typically identify those by their language, focus, and the not infrequent "In Conclusion" section. I'll ask Person B to clarify their intent and connection to Person A and see if I get any response. Thank you. Zinnober9 (talk) 21:32, 20 December 2024 (UTC)

Primefac, from working at TFD to ArbCom to your duties as a 'crat, you do a lot around here and it is noticed and appreciated! Thank you for finally completing the merge of {{clickable button 2}} to {{clickable button}}, thank you for all of the by-its-nature very hidden WP:OS work you do, and I have enjoyed working with you to sort out the TLTs which might need renaming. And a special shout out to making the desperately-needed move of {{pp}} to {{Protection padlock}}. Best to you and yours in 2025, and happy holidays! Declined history merge of Chris Koclanes/Draft:Chris Koclanes
Hello Primefac, I noticed you declined the history merge, but now that lists me as the page creator when the creation should rightfully be attributed to @Assadzadeh. I draftified the article as it was an unreferenced BLP and then requested the cross-namespace redirect be deleted. Is there any way to fix this? WP:IAR? Svampesky (talk) 20:46, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
- Meh... who creates an article isn't always who edits the page first, but sure, I'll go back to your R2 and delete those. Primefac (talk) 20:53, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
My talk page reverts
Hi! You have called me out for reverting edits on pages like Talk:Legality of conversion therapy. Although that one looks benign, it's part of a pattern of disruptive editing by 2603:7000:B500:5D4:0:0:0:0/64 which led to them being blocked for three months. Their use of talk pages does not line up well with WP:TALK. For example, see Talk:List_of_countries_by_age_at_first_marriage#Large_table_on_talk_page. Currently they are evading their three month block by using a mobile address range: 2600:1017:B800:0:0:0:0:0/40. I can stop reverting borderline talk page edits, but I thought you might like some of the context. Ttwaring (talk) 14:38, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
- Okay, if you are reverting socking/block evasion, please make sure to use that in your edit summary; otherwise, it looks like you are simply removing talk page sections that might not be perfectly formatted. Thank you for the explanation. Primefac (talk) 14:41, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
- Will do. Thanks for the very quick reply! Ttwaring (talk) 14:48, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
I saw you fulfill my CSD G8-requests regarding these. I've filed a Twinkle ticket so these are deleted automatically from now on, but if you want to, you can go through the list. NotAGenious (talk) 17:18, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
- Sorted, thanks. Primefac (talk) 17:29, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
Probation
Can I review article at WP:AFC being in "Probation", where you just added me? Taabii (talk) 16:12, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Yes, you can. Being on probation only means that during the probation timeframe, you can be removed from the list of reviewers without discussion or warnings. NotAGenious (talk) 12:16, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
