Sepidan County

Sepidan County (Persian: شهرستان سپیدان) is in Fars province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Ardakan.

History

After the 2006 National Census, five villages in Hamaijan District merged to form the new city of Hamashahr. Shesh Pir Rural District was transferred from the district to the Central District. In October 2019, Beyza District was separated from the county in the establishment of Beyza County.

Demographics

Population

At the time of the 2006 census, the county's population was 87,801 in 20,127 households. The following census in 2011 counted 89,398 people in 24,172 households. The 2016 census measured the population of the county as 91,049 in 26,381 households.

Handicrafts and tourism

Its cool summer climate, snow-covered mountains, and natural tourist attractions, such as Tizab Gorge, Chelleh-gah, and riding tracks and ski slopes, have helped boost the tourism industry.
