- Helmut Bauer, responsible for church music in Würzburg and president of the commission for the Gotteslob hymnal, confirmed around 150,000 young people, including 500 in Tanzania.
- The first stanza of the hymn "Nun bitten wir den Heiligen Geist", asking the Holy Spirit for the right faith most of all, is documented in German in the 13th century, and the later three stanzas by Martin Luther relate to faith, love and hope. (2011)
- Paul Gerhardt's song of thanks and praise "Nun danket all und bringet Ehr" was first published along with 17 of his other hymns in 1647, during the Thirty Years' War. (2018)
- "Shalom chaverim" ('Peace, friends'), a Hebrew traditional folk song, has been sung at events commemorating the Holocaust and victims of anti-Semitic violence.
