Central District (Shirvan County)
The Central District of Shirvan County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان شیروان) is in North Khorasan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Shirvan.

History

After the 2011 National Census, the village of Ziarat was elevated to the status of a city. After the 2016 census, the village of Khan Laq was also elevated to city status.

Demographics

Population

At the time of the 2006 census, the district's population was 126,928 in 31,926 households. The following census in 2011 counted 134,455 people in 37,178 households. The 2016 census measured the population of the district as 123,745 inhabitants in 37,420 households.
